The Assistant Director of Quality in Construction acts as the primary point of contact for the client regarding the Quality Management System (QMS), work compliance, and the application of standards on site. They collaborate with project teams, contractors, and the client to ensure adherence to quality procedures and the maintenance of compliance and safety standards.
All responsibilities of the Quality Director may be delegated to them in the Director’s absence. As such, they remain involved in all key matters related to the quality function, work inspection, and regulatory compliance.
Main functions related to the position:
• Ensure that all steps required to obtain and maintain the project’s certification in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards are in place. In particular,
o Verify the planning and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS), the mapping and development of documents required for communication, team training, and QMS monitoring.
o Verify the development and updating of processes by process owners, as well as the monitoring of indicators.
o Verify and, where applicable, lead management reviews at defined intervals, the development of action plans, and the implementation of improvement actions.
o Ensure and review the development of a schedule and the execution of internal audits.
o Ensure and review the implementation of the IT charter.
• Ensure the monitoring of document management indicators and coordination with other departments for the implementation of appropriate tools and the awareness of project staff.
• Act as a primary point of contact for the client regarding the Quality Management System. For this purpose, organize workshops and initiate the necessary discussions to maintain a climate of trust with the client (MTMD / CI), obtain the review of QMS documents, and organize improvement and MTMD satisfaction measurement actions.
• Ensure, with the Quality Director, the necessary coordination within the project for the implementation of the Quality Management System and document management.
• Perform any other related tasks associated with this position.

Employment conditions:
• Position type: Permanent, full-time
• Schedule: 40 hours
• Fixed schedule
• Start date: As soon as possible
• Vacation: Five weeks

Salary:
• Annual salary: Between $114,000.00 and $130,000.00, depending on experience

Required skills:
• Education: College diploma in building, civil engineering, architecture, environmental law, corporate safety and quality, or any other field relevant to the position.
• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, particularly in the field of environment, safety, and quality. Experience in construction is an asset.

Knowledge and competencies sought:
• Excellent command of French (spoken and written);
• Strong organizational skills, sense of responsibility, and good political awareness;
• Strong adaptability;
• Attention to detail;
• Mastery of ISO 9001:2015 and knowledge of ISO 14001 standards.
