As a Project Director working in the Civil & Infrastructure team at Pomerleau Construction, your role will be essential in our ambitious initiatives to meet and exceed project goals, execution and workforce management. Managing large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will collaborate with cross functional teams, architects, engineers, contractors and clients to ensure seamless execution of all projects.
What You Will Do:
• Proactively grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
• Support project management teams in developing and driving the construction schedule, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met or exceeded.
• Leverage your problem-solving skills to recommend innovative methods that enhance efficiency, productivity, and project excellence.
• Use your proactive approach to ensure compliance with our top-tier Quality Program.
• Apply your experience in selecting and coordinating trade partners and professional collaborators.
• Use your financial management expertise to plan, manage, and adhere to project budgets, costs, and procurement.
• Be both a mentor and role model to your project team, offering coaching and guidance to support their career growth.
• Act as a subject matter expert in risk management, ensuring project risks are minimized.
• Take pride in compiling and completing company-wide project reports for executive teams and client groups.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection on the project. Effectively apply project-specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E values, as well as applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes among all employees and trade partners.

This Role Could Be for You If You Have:
• 8–10+ years of experience working on large-scale construction projects.
• A university degree or diploma in engineering or a related field.
• Strong business acumen and deep knowledge of project management methodologies, financial management, Canadian building codes, and associated legislation.
• Proven experience in the construction industry with solid expertise in project execution and regulatory compliance.
• A strong track record in team leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
• The ability to effectively influence others and resolve a wide range of client, project, and technical challenges.
• Previous experience with scheduling software.
