As a Scheduler working in the Civil and Infrastructure team at Pomerleau, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate layout for our current and future projects. Working on large-scale civil and infrastructure construction projects - ranging from $15 million to upwards of $1 billion, your exceptional eye for detail will enable you to make significant contributions to the successful delivery of our projects.
What you will do:

Work on one or multiple assigned projects simultaneously (depending on project goals and requirements);
Work closely with the Project Director and/or Senior Scheduler to efficiently carry out the assigned tasks;
Participate in the development of the project schedule, the resource curves related to the schedule, the phasing and work sequences, the drafting of the assumptions note and the integration of contractual constraints;
Integrate the general methods that will be deployed on the construction site in collaboration with the construction team and the methods team;
Find the best options for carrying out the project, in line with the general methods contemplated, and anticipate problems that could arise at the work site;
Integrate the design schedule in collaboration with the Design management team;
Conduct a qualitative analysis of projects under their responsibility;
Ensure the alignment of the Project Breakdown Structure with the cost estimate, then participate in the development of expenditure or cashflow curves;
Reflect the project execution team’s strategy, including a clearly defined critical path; integrate the project’s interfaces and their associated impacts; and include external dependencies and third-party obligations;
Develop the Critical Path Method (CPM) on their projects;
During the execution phase, analyze and justify deviations;
Organize and take part in weekly meetings to monitor assigned projects;
Carry out schedule advancements at the frequency established by the project team (and according to contractual requirements);
Interact with project teams and ensure that the appropriate stakeholders and data are integrated into the schedule;
Set up and maintain visuals extracted from the schedule data;
In the execution phase, monitor the actual performance of critical activities or those identified as risky;
Participate in resource integration and create load curves;
Take part in site visits and project reviews;
Participate in all other activities related to the Planning department’s planning and development.

This role could be for you if you have:

Hold a Bachelor of Civil Engineering or construction engineering, or a diploma in civil engineering or construction engineering;
A minimum of five (5) years of Planning/Scheduling experience;
An excellent understanding of construction means and methods and the associated timelines;
Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project or any other planning software program;
Have knowledge of Acumen Fuse, Schedule Reader or any other schedule analysis software programs;
Strong command of Office 365;
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings;
Ability to work under pressure;
Experience with the resource and cost loading of a schedule;
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative;
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time;
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives;
Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
