As a Human Resources Business Partner working in the Talent, Culture & Leadership team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our strategic talent and people objectives. Supporting our work on a large-scale building project in Northern Ontario, this role will work out of our Mississauga office and will be responsible driving the achievement of strategic objectives through a people perspective, provide leadership and guidance on recruitment and selection and hiring best practices, and acting as the catalyst for HR strategy development and talent programs.
What you will do

• Build strong, collaborative relationships with leadership and project teams to influence HR decisions.
• Continuously enhance HR services using data insights and best practices.
• Effectively manage highly sensitive and confidential employee/labor relations matters that arise within the project.
• Successfully manage the full cycle recruitment process, designing competitive attraction and sourcing strategies all while delivering an exceptional candidate/client experience.
• Ensure smooth onboarding and handle offboarding with professionalism and empathy.
• Foster communication between managers and employees through performance management and coaching.
• Address sensitive and confidential employee relations issues effectively.
• Develop strategies to boost team morale and job satisfaction through team building and wellness initiatives.


This role could be for you if you have

• A post-secondary degree and/or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial or labor relations or any other related discipline.
• 5+ years of human resources management experience.
• Strong employee relationship experience.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple leaders, providing effective guidance and challenge where appropriate.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with team members.
• Ability to travel to Northern Ontario on a monthly/bi-monthly basis.
• Proficient in all areas of Canadian employment laws.
• Certified Human Resources Professional (CRHP) designation is considered a strong asset.
