Working as part of a major project team in the Québec region, the position holder will exercise leadership in environmental and sustainable development matters within the team and among involved stakeholders. They ensure the development and execution of the project in compliance with environmental requirements in collaboration with various parties and supervise the team of environmental and sustainability specialists assigned to the project.
What you will do

• Lead the project’s environmental and sustainability team, work with other project teams, and collaborate with all involved stakeholders.
• Ensure the implementation and compliance of an Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Define and monitor the environmental and sustainability strategy with project leadership, and set objectives.
• Support and oversee the strategy for obtaining required environmental permits.
• Ensure the preparation and completion of all required deliverables.
• Approve environmental documentation.
• Oversee the production of required periodic reports.
•Monitor and report environmental performance to the steering committee and the client.
• Plan, provide, and support the necessary human, material, and financial resources for environmental and sustainability matters.
• Manage the environmental budget.
• Act as the primary environmental point of contact for the project team, the client, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with the EMS and environmental requirements on the project site.


This role could be for you if you have

• A university degree in environmental studies, biology, ecology, geography, environmental engineering, or a similar field.
• At least 20 years of experience in environmental management.
• Experience in coordinating and supervising a team.
• Excellent knowledge of federal and provincial environmental regulations in Canada.
• Strong understanding of environmental issues and impacts related to construction sites, particularly in urban settings.
• Practical experience implementing an ISO 14001 management system.
• Strong leadership skills and excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
• Sound judgment and a keen interest in team management and multidisciplinary work.
• A positive attitude and a constructive, solution-oriented approach.
