Working as part of the team for a major project in the Québec region, the position holder is responsible for developing, planning, and implementing environmental management within the project, including the development, maintenance, and monitoring of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as well as ensuring compliance with environmental obligations. The Environmental Manager supports the Project Environmental Director and manages the environmental monitoring team dedicated to the project.
What you will do

• Plan, monitor, and verify deliverables related to environmental management, including the environmental monitoring program, environmental plans and programs, and the Environmental Emergency Plan (EEP).
• Work closely with various project teams to integrate environmental obligations into project development and execution planning.
• Identify the best technical solutions for environmental challenges such as water, noise, and vibration management.
• Collaborate closely with the person responsible for environmental permits and authorizations.
• Ensure the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) by coordinating the work of the EMS lead and overseeing the execution of all EMS activities.
• Plan the implementation of environmental plans and programs and environmental monitoring activities for the construction phase.
• Consolidate environmental monitoring data and produce periodic reports.
• Conduct and document incident and non-compliance analyses, identify root causes, and define corrective actions as needed.

This role could be for you if you have

• A background in environmental science, engineering, biology, geology, or another related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in environmental management.
• Experience and interest in personnel management.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and the issues and impacts of construction sites, particularly in urban environments.

• Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) within a normative framework such as ISO 14001.
