As a Senior Estimator - Team Lead in the Water / Wastewater Civil Operations Team team at Pomerleau Construction, you will lead preconstruction and estimating for large-scale projects- ranging from $25 million to upwards of $250 million - while working closely with our client groups and subcontractors and acting as an integral part of our projects team.
What you will do

• 5-10+ years Building and Major Project experience.
• Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of quantities required for the work deemed decisive and verify the quantities given by the estimators.
• Prepare the summary of quantities according to the plans and specs and by sorting them according to the standardized sections and functions of the trades involved. 
• Identify project-specific prices related to key items including labor, equipment and materials.
• Grow and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
• Thoroughly review all received amounts from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring their alignment with bid documents during compilation and bid closings.
• Take part in and/or coordinate the various parties involved in the estimation of a design-build project.
• Support in the search for new contacts subcontractors, suppliers, and work providers.
• Suggest and quantify alternatives to bid documents to reduce construction costs of bid projects.
• Act as a role model and mentor for your junior team members, providing coaching and guidance on best practices and trade secrets.
• Negotiation Experience with clients and subcontractors during execution of CMA, Alliance and collaboration Projects
• Assisting with Project execution, scheduling and constructability of projects following operations inputs and recommendations.
• Experience with bid closing, proposal documents, post tender turnover and follow up, change orders.
• Preparation, Communication and Review of procurement project cycle.
• Experience set up Master Estimate template using estimating software
• Prepare the Direct and indirect costs of estimates.
• Take full ownership of the accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness of all estimates produced by the team.
• Establish and implement quality standards, review processes, and best practices to ensure consistent, reliable estimating outputs.
• Monitor and evaluate team performance, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality estimates and deliverables.
• Provide formal leadership to the estimating team, setting clear expectations and ensuring alignment with project and organizational goals.
• Foster a collaborative, high‑performance team environment through coaching, mentorship, and continuous development.

This role could be for you if you have

• A University Degree or College Diploma in Construction project estimation or a combination of education and industry experience.
• 5-10 + years’ relevant experience in estimating in the ICI construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of excavation and formwork.
• Previous experience leading and mentoring junior team members.
• Strong experience working with estimation software.
