Under the supervision of the Payroll Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for analyzing various payroll-related issues. They act as a change agent in the research and implementation of continuous improvements to payroll processes
What you will do


• Analyze payroll data and support the accounting team with various requests;
• Support the payroll team in the payroll process to ensure the accuracy of system configurations and data, as well as legislative compliance;
• Provide training to the various stakeholders involved in the payroll process (including training for superintendents and project managers);
• Take charge of resolving ad hoc issues, act as a payroll subject-matter expert, and provide recommendations that consider business needs, existing applications, and their impact on processes;
• Deliver high quality customer service in all interactions with stakeholders;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and automation of current payroll procedures and processes, and participate in the definition and compliance of new tools;
• Stay up to date on new legislative measures and payroll best practices;
• Make necessary changes in payroll systems (e.g., modifications related to collective agreement conditions);
• Support the Payroll Coordinator in analyzing and executing certain ad hoc tasks (e.g., external audits, government requests).



This role could be for you if you have

• An AEC or DEC in Accounting;
• A Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification issued by the National Payroll Institute;
• 5 to 7 years of experience in end to end payroll processing;
• In depth knowledge of payroll systems and process implementation. Strong understanding of systems and data flows, with the ability to learn and adapt to new process flows and technologies;
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to proactively address issues and propose solutions;
• Demonstrated efficiency, attention to detail, and thoroughness;
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills;
