Under the supervision of the Site Mechanical Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for planning and coordinating on-site mechanical repairs with mechanics and/or mechanical subcontractors for a portfolio of civil projects. The incumbent will also be responsible for purchasing mechanical parts required for the maintenance and repair of equipment across the various projects.
What you will do

• Respond to mechanical service requests on construction sites and coordinate work with various stakeholders (operations, field mechanics, mechanical subcontractors, etc.).
• Identify and select qualified subcontractors to perform fabrication and/or mechanical repair work on active and future construction sites.
• Negotiate services and issue purchase orders to suppliers.
• Verify completed and invoiced work and allocate expenses accurately.
• Follow up with site requesters and coordinate repair work with operations to minimize equipment downtime.
• Estimate mechanical repair work to be re-billed. Monitor the re-billing process with the logistics administration team and develop and maintain performance indicators related to this activity.
• Coordinate required work with equipment maintenance planning and future work to be performed on equipment (backlogs).
• Create work orders for equipment repairs and ensure proper follow-up through to closure. Complete purchase orders for parts and services and track them through to payment.
• Research services, parts, materials, and consumables required for maintenance, fabrication, and repair of fleet equipment and operations.
• Coordinate transportation and shipping of ordered goods to ensure on-time delivery within required and feasible timelines.•


This role could be for you if you have

• A DEP in construction equipment mechanics or heavy machinery mechanics (asset);
• 5 to 8 years of experience in a related field;
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
• A reputation for being efficient, detail-oriented, and rigorous;
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
