Job Description

Ready to build your career? We want to hear from you.
As an Electrical Superintendent working on one of Pomerleau’s large scale civil, industrial, and marine infrastructure projects — ranging in value from $1.5 million to over $1 billion — you will oversee all electrical construction activities while developing a clear and comprehensive understanding of client, team, and project requirements. With your hands on leadership style and deep technical expertise in electrical systems, you will guide crews and trade partners toward safe, high quality execution, ensuring resources are available and challenges are addressed proactively. You will play a key role in maintaining schedule, quality, safety, coordination, and stakeholder communication—helping us rethink construction from idea to completion. Everywhere. Every time.
What you will do

• Lead all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) practices on site, applying project‑specific and Pomerleau safety standards, OH&S regulations, and electrical codes with employees and trade partners.
• Ensure all electrical materials, equipment, and installations meet project specifications and quality requirements.
• Determine and manage on‑site electrical manpower needs and sequencing.
• Provide hands‑on leadership—mentoring crews, supporting field teams, and maintaining strong presence on site.
• Collaborate with trade partners, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and maintain alignment.
• Develop and drive the electrical construction schedule to achieve key milestones and completion dates.
• Apply strong problem‑solving skills to improve efficiency, address issues, and support project excellence.
• Work closely with the Project Manager through all phases of project start‑up and execution.
• Represent Pomerleau in coordination meetings with clients and industry partners.
• Maintain up‑to‑date training and certifications for yourself and the electrical workforce.
• Manage procurement and delivery of electrical materials, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure all electrical work is completed to approved drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable electrical codes.
• Oversee electrical inventory and collaborate with Logistics to ensure accurate tracking.
• Keep site documentation organized and current.
• Support project close‑out activities and celebrate successful completion with the team.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in electrical construction (industrial, commercial, or heavy civil environments).
• A related electrical or construction diploma, certificate, Red Seal, or degree.
• A proven history of successfully delivering electrical scopes on large or complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, safety regulations, scheduling, quality control, and cost management.
• Ability to identify issues quickly, evaluate root causes, propose solutions, and lead teams through to resolution.
• Expertise in developing, maintaining, and executing detailed project schedules.
• Solid computer skills, including scheduling and construction management software.
• Strong knowledge of the regional electrical construction market and willingness to work across the area as required.
Benefits
• RRSP with up to 5% employer matching

• Hybrid work model for corporate roles
• Employee stock ownership program
• Career growth through real development opportunities
• Transit pass reimbursement — get to work for free
• Minimum 4 weeks of vacation from day one
