As a VDC Coordinator, you’ll bring complex environments to life with immersive 4D simulations, advanced site capture workflows, and intuitive digital tools that make construction more visual, efficient, and enjoyable. Working closely with the project team, you’ll help everyone see the work before it happens, identify productivity opportunities, and make planning sessions clearer and more collaborative.

This role will require regular travel in Nova Scotia or relocation.
What you will do:

• Participate in all phases of a project(s) (Proposal, pre-construction, design, construction)
• Share and document the best practices of your project(s)
• Jump in right from project start-up and identify BIM/VDC uses which have the potential to be beneficial for the project;
• Facilitate the implementation of BIM/VDC processes collaboratively with the project operations and BIM/VDC teams;
• Collaborate with designers and trades in creating BIM content, organizing it in common data environment (CDE);
• Assist with the creation of project specific contract language for tender packages for the BIM submission process;
• Find joy in teaching others who are still learning to use BIM Collaboration platforms, work to take away their fears and inspire them to stretch their abilities.
• Take pride in creating 4D simulations, giving the end users the possibility to experience their project in Virtual and Augmented Reality;
• Assist site logistics and quality assurance on the job site by flying a drone over big projects, by integrating a point-cloud from laser scan or by using mobile technology;
• Constantly learn to keep your own expertise at the leading edge through continuing professional development, experimentation and research;
• Celebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up process.
• Promotion of Pomerleau’s innovation methods at various events
• Participation in the pre-construction/qualification process (4D.5D)
• Work with the estimation team in the process (5D) and quantity take-off linked with 3D models
• Lead BIM/MEP coordination in meetings with the subtrades
• Train and coach the subtrades to develop themselves in 3D modeling and preparation of installation/fabrication plans
• Monitor and report BIM/VDC tasks progress throughout the project lifecycle and identify opportunities for improvement of existing practices
• Develop best Practices for BIM/VDC methodologies and tools
• Mentor team members about BIM/VDC standard procedures
• Support BIM/VDC leadership on complex projects analysis & planning
• Participate in pilot projects and Identify Operation (Project) needs and communicate them to the team leader

This role could be for you if you have:

• 5 or more years of BIM experience in the AEC industry; including large scale or complex projects (. i.e., Hospitals or P3 projects)
• Experience mentoring other VDC team members about standards and best practices
• Skills for conceptualization and development of workflows and guidelines
• A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Architecture or MEP Technology or a combination of education and construction industry experience;
• A proven track record of BIM project coordination and team collaboration;
• Solid written and verbal communication skills;
• Proficiency with computers especially with BIM software including: REVIT, Revizto, Autodesk Construction Cloud, PowerBi, Primavera P6 / MS Project, etc.;
• Knowledge of the BC market, with the flexibility to work across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island as project needs arise.

• Willingness to travel regularly/relocate and work on site.
