• Participate in updating project-specific environmental management plans and preparing permit applications, while contributing to work planning by ensuring environmental requirements are integrated into execution documents.
• Take part in safety talks, site kick-off meetings, and work coordination meetings.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure environmental and regulatory compliance by documenting observations, best practices implemented, opportunities for improvement, and non-compliance situations, and by collecting supporting evidence of compliance.
• Implement soil and water sampling plans in accordance with provincial and federal guidelines as well as contractual requirements, in order to collect environmental quality data that can be used as performance indicators.
• Respond to environmental emergencies that result in or could result in impacts on receiving environments.
• Prepare regular and thorough environmental monitoring reports, as well as environmental incident and spill reports.
• Apply the environmental management system in the execution of duties, monitor performance indicators, and contribute to achieving corporate environmental objectives.

• Completed (or are in the process of completing) a post-secondary program in environmental sciences, forestry, engineering, biology, geology, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in the environmental field, ideally within the construction industry or on projects involving water management (e.g., experience managing large volumes of water, road construction and culvert installation in wetland and aquatic environments, erosion and sediment control).
• Knowledge of water treatment system operating principles and the ability to implement a water quality monitoring program.
• The ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
• ASP Construction certification (Association paritaire pour la santé et la sécurité du travail du secteur de la construction).
• A valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work in remote locations on a 14 days on / 7 days off rotation; accommodation and meals provided for workers.
Benefits
