As a Construction Site Buyer – Construction Materials and Mechanical, you play a key role at the heart of field operations. You are responsible for sourcing construction materials, mechanical parts, and essential services, working closely with site teams and local suppliers. Through efficient, well‑coordinated, and strategic purchasing, you directly contribute to the performance and success of construction projects.
What you will do

• Receive purchase requests from superintendents and regional coordinators
• Receive purchase requests for mechanical parts and subcontracted mechanical services from the maintenance team leader and mechanics
• Carry out the purchase of materials and mechanical parts
• Create purchase orders and ensure compliance with related administrative standards
• Ensure purchase orders are properly approved
• Source innovative products from local suppliers in the respective regions
• Follow up on stock shortages, reconcile delivery slips with purchase orders, and approve invoices
• Request quotes from suppliers
• Occasionally organize transportation of materials and parts
• Coordinate with construction sites for the receipt of purchased materials and parts
• Collaborate with procurement specialists to optimize corporate agreements
• Consolidate product purchases to maximize leverage and/or create annual agreements
• Negotiate credit and payment terms with local suppliers
• Follow established ISO procedures


This role could be for you if you have

• More than 3 years of experience related to procurement for construction sites
• Strong knowledge of the construction materials industry
• Knowledge of civil engineering work is an asset
• A diploma in logistics or procurement, or equivalent experience
• Basic mechanical knowledge is a strong asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong autonomy and ability to manage urgent situations
• A strong ability to take on challenges
