The Director of Operations – Site Supervision is responsible for establishing and overseeing mobilization and demobilization plans, as well as project sequencing and resource requirements for site supervision teams. The role ensures the optimization of workforce allocation to support efficient use of resources. It also includes participating in the recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation of supervision teams. Finally, the position contributes to enforcing health and safety (H&S), quality, and operational performance standards on construction sites, in collaboration with internal teams.
What you will do

In collaboration with General Superintendents:

• Ensure adequate supervision coverage across projects (assignment of superintendents, succession planning, temporary needs) based on project progress and complexity.
• In collaboration with Project Directors, oversee superintendent performance through field coaching, alignment of priorities, skills development, and disciplinary management as needed.
• Support the project leadership team in managing team-related issues and resolve work-related challenges in collaboration with the TCL Business Partner.
• Participate in the management of employee cases involving work stoppages, in collaboration with H&S and TCL teams.
• Take part in interviews for superintendent, foreperson, and other key site supervision roles.
• Support project teams in the onboarding, field training, and ongoing support of superintendents and forepersons (1-3-6 month follow-ups, as needed).
• Organize, coordinate, and lead operational coordination meetings with General Superintendents, as required.

Executive Support Responsibilities:

• Monitor operational capacity (superintendents/teams) on a regular basis and recommend adjustments in line with the project pipeline.
• Contribute to communicating operational requirements and standardizing best practices (methods, tracking templates, lessons learned).
• Ensure, in collaboration with relevant teams, the availability and reliability of data required for decision-making (project workforce curves, MFL, etc.).

This role could be for you if you have

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience considered);
• 15+ years of relevant experience in construction, including significant experience in site operations management and supervision leadership;
• Proficiency with IT tools (Microsoft 365);
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence;

• Organizational skills, sound judgment, autonomy, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
