At Pomerleau, health and safety are not just one aspect of a project—they are its foundation. On our large-scale job sites, every decision, every action, and every plan integrates safety as a top priority. As part of a major project, we are looking for a Health & Safety Manager who will play both a strategic and operational role at the heart of the site.
What you will do

• Manage a team of OHS officers (COSS)
• Act as the Health & Safety (H&S) reference on site and provide guidance to your team and project supervision
• Influence and mobilize teams (superintendents, foremen, subcontractors)
• Ensure implementation of the project’s prevention program
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Actively participate in planning and risk analysis phases
• Ensure H&S is integrated into all construction activities
• Align H&S practices across all partners
• Prepare project reports and statistics
• Participate in meetings with the client, government authorities (CNESST, etc.), and unions
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (CNESST)
• Issue and follow up on non-conformities
• Lead accident and incident investigations, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow-up and knowledge sharing
• Coordinate H&S across multiple employers and subcontractors
• Support management teams in integrating H&S practices
• Work with the client on emergency response planning and ensure compliance with all related regulations
• Participate in forecasting needs and ordering H&S equipment based on workforce curve and project progress
• Deploy H&S training, onboarding, and orientation programs for new employees and subcontractors

This role could be for you if you have

• Minimum of 8–10 years of H&S experience in construction
• Experience on large-scale projects ($200M+)
• Strong field experience and team management skills
• Proven leadership and on-site credibility
• Strong risk analysis capabilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organization, autonomy, and sense of priorities
• Ability to thrive in a complex and demanding environment
