As Head of Legal Affairs, you will provide strategic legal leadership to support Pomerleau's operations and major construction and infrastructure projects across Canada. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and project teams, you will oversee complex commercial and construction matters, manage legal risk, and lead a team of legal professionals in delivering practical, business-focused solutions.
What you will do

• Lead legal support for major construction and infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex construction, commercial, and partnership agreements.
• Provide strategic guidance on contractual risk, project delivery, and commercial matters.
• Support project financing initiatives and related lender requirements.
• Partner with business development and operations teams on procurement, bids, and contract negotiations.
• Drive the development and continuous improvement of contracting standards, templates, and processes.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other professional advisors.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of legal professionals.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on legal, commercial, and strategic initiatives.


This role could be for you if you have

• LL.B. or J.D. degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Approximately 10+ years of experience in construction, infrastructure, corporate, or commercial law.
• Strong experience negotiating and managing complex commercial and construction contracts, including alternative delivery and P3 projects.
• Knowledge of project delivery models such as DB, DBF, DBFOM, joint ventures, and consortium structures.
• Proven ability to manage legal and commercial risk in a fast-paced project environment.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong business acumen with exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
• Willingness to travel occasionally across Canada.
