As an Environmental Advisor within the environmental team for the Montreal Metro Blue Line Extension project, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental requirements on the construction sites covered by the project. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with project management teams on several construction sites. You will be responsible for ensuring the environmental compliance of construction activities, the implementation of environmental management plans, and the achievement of Envision objectives.
What you will do :
• Be present on the various construction sites and support the site teams in carrying out the work in accordance with Envision certification and all environmental requirements associated with the project;
•Provide environmental consulting services to project teams on various environmental issues and obligations related to the project (monitoring the quality of water discharges, dust, contaminated soil, storage of hazardous waste, permits and authorizations, storage and disposal of waste, noise and vibrations, etc.);
• Implement and carry out activities related to Envision certification on construction sites.
• Develop environmental plans and programs and ensure their implementation by supporting site teams and carrying out activities on site (e.g., management of demolition materials and construction waste, hazardous waste, erosion control, contaminated soil management, water management, etc.);
• Maintain environmental performance indicators (non-compliance, spills, waste materials, best practices, etc.);
•Conduct monthly inspections to ensure compliance of construction site facilities;
•Compile data and produce follow-up reports as required;
• Report any apparent deviations from requirements that could affect environmental obligations as soon as possible. Open non-compliance reports as needed;
•Proactively find solutions to ensure compliance with environmental requirements;
• Attend weekly follow-up meetings with the client and clearly communicate issues and expectations to the client;
• Carry out various activities related to the implementation of the project's environmental management system (EMS) on construction sites.

This role could be for you if you have :

• University degree in environmental studies, sustainable development, engineering, geology, or a similar field.
• Three or more years of experience as an environmental technician or consultant.
• Experience working on construction sites or in an industrial setting.
• Good knowledge of the environmental issues and impacts that a construction project may face.
• General knowledge of provincial and municipal environmental regulations.
