As the Environmental lead, you will play a key role in supporting project teams to achieve and maintain full compliance with environmental legislation, contractual requirements, and other project‑specific conditions and commitments. Your work will help promote a positive and proactive culture of environmental awareness and regulatory responsibility within your project team and across the Pomerleau family.
What you will do

• Work closely with the Environmental Director or Manager while independently leading your portfolio of projects.
• Oversee the development of environmental management plans, permits, and all pre‑construction requirements.
• Lead the implementation of on‑site environmental programs, including pre‑construction surveys, species rescue operations, water quality monitoring, noise monitoring, waste management and more.
• Deliver or coordinate environmental training for project teams and help foster a strong environmental culture.
• Supervise a team of Environmental Coordinators and collaborate with external consultants as needed.
• Proactively identify environmental risks and drive effective mitigation strategies.
• When required, act as a key point of contact for regulatory agencies, Indigenous groups and other external stakeholders.
• Promote best practices in environmental protection and model strong health and safety behaviours.


This role could be for you if you have

• A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, biology, geology or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in environmental management within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of federal, provincial and municipal environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
• Hands‑on field experience and the ability to mentor junior staff.
• Experience on large, complex civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Availability to travel regularly across Québec, Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
• Strong teamwork abilities, autonomy and excellent interpersonal skills.


• A valid ASP Construction card and driver’s licence.
