Discover positive energy here!

Harnessing the power of the sun and wind to generate something big.
To support this evolution, Pomerleau is seeking a Senior Director of Virtual Design and Construction, the most senior VDC leader in the organization. Reporting directly to the CIO, this leader will oversee a national team of 70 to 75 highly technical VDC specialists and lead the transformation of Pomerleau’s digital delivery capabilities across Canada.
This role is pivotal to the company’s future. The Senior Director will modernize VDC practices, harmonize processes across all regions, elevate operational discipline, and ensure VDC becomes a consistent, scalable, and value-adding partner to Operations.
As Pomerleau continues to deliver some of Canada’s most complex and high-impact projects, the Senior Director, VDC will play a defining role in shaping the organization’s next chapter, positioning it as a global-calibre leader in digital construction.
What you will do

Key Responsibilities

• National Leadership and Organizational Transformation
• Lead and evolve a national VDC organization of 70 to 75 specialists, including senior managers, regional coordinators, and technical teams.
• Establish a culture of operational discipline, accountability, and clear performance expectations.
• Develop leadership capability within the VDC management layer; mentor emerging leaders and reinforce strong people-management fundamentals.
• Unify disparate regional approaches into a coherent national operating model.

Strategic Modernization of VDC Practices

• Develop and execute a multi-year modernization roadmap aligned with global best practices in digital construction.
• Implement harmonized standards for BIM/VDC workflows and governance, national documentation and modelling standards, pricing and chargeback models, project scoping and engagement timing, and CDE usage and open BIM integration.
• Drive consistency and scalability in how VDC supports pursuits, design coordination, and construction execution.

Operational Excellence and Project Delivery

• Ensure VDC is embedded consistently across the full project lifecycle, from pursuit and design through construction and turnover.
• Oversee the quality and timely delivery of core VDC outputs, including clash detection, 4D simulations, constructability reviews, and digital coordination. Improve service reliability, delivery consistency, and client impact across all regions.
• Support major pursuits and complex joint ventures where digital leadership is critical to competitive advantage.

Executive Partnership and Cross-Functional Alignment

• Partner closely with Operations, Design, Estimating, PMO, IT, and the Executive Committee to advance organizational transformation.
• Serve as the enterprise authority on VDC strategy, capabilities, and value creation. Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from highly technical specialists to senior operational leaders.
• Support enterprise initiatives led by the CIO, ensuring alignment between VDC modernization and broader technology transformation.

Innovation, Tools, and Technology Enablement

• Assess, select, and deploy advanced tools, platforms, and workflows in collaboration with the CIO and technology teams.
• Foster practical innovation that balances technical sophistication with real-world project needs.
• Ensure tool adoption is accompanied by training, governance, and measurable outcomes.

People, Capability and Change Leadership

• Lead organizational change to shift mindset, behaviours, and ways of working across the VDC organization.
• Create national capability development programs, including training for operations teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent skills in communication and cross-functional collaboration and influence.
• Promote bilingual collaboration, inclusion, and internal mobility across regions.
