Under the supervision of the Director of Methods and Temporary Works, the incumbent is responsible, within a given project, for managing the involvement of the department’s resources during both the proposal and execution phases of the projects. The role includes leading and coordinating the resources assigned to the project.
The incumbent oversees the development of construction methods, plans and designs temporary works, supervises the production of models and drawings, and ensures the compliance of temporary works during their installation on the construction site. They provide technical support throughout the proposal and execution phases of the project.
What you will do

• Work closely with Team Leaders and other M&OP managers to coordinate resources and efficiently execute assigned mandates.
• Be responsible for monitoring the group’s work, ensuring the quality of produced documents, and meeting deliverable production timelines.
• During the proposal phase, supervise and guide the preparation of general construction methods, work sequences, equipment needs, and the preliminary design of temporary works.
• During the proposal phase or at the start of a project, collaborate with the M&OP Director and the construction team to define the main mandates that will be handled directly by the department and those that may be subcontracted (if applicable), and establish a production schedule for deliverables.
• Define, in collaboration with the construction team, the general methods that will be implemented on the job site.
• Coordinate and ensure the production of various documents, including site layout plans, lifting plans, and other project‑specific drawings.
• Coordinate and ensure the production of phasing plans: cycles of temporary works usage, general construction phasing.
• Identify the best options for constructing temporary works, aligning them with planning requirements and the intended general methods, while anticipating site‑related challenges.
• Design temporary works (special formwork, pile‑driving templates, platforms, temporary walkways and bridges, steel structures, cofferdams, temporary retaining structures, etc.) and support engineers involved in the design process.
• Coordinate and ensure the production of models and fabrication drawings for temporary works.
• Manage the internal and external review process for engineering documents produced for the project.
• Approve and finalize temporary works design drawings produced for the construction site.
• Sign and seal temporary works drawings.
• Provide technical support to the construction team to ensure proper installation and adherence to methods.
• Certify the compliance of specific temporary works.
• Act as a credible and reliable technical resource for project stakeholders.


This role could be for you if you have

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
• 8 to 15 years of relevant experience in civil works and structural design.
• Experience in team management.
• A full engineering license from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Strong proficiency with AdvanceDesign or another finite‑element analysis software.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit and/or Civil 3D (an asset).
