Reporting to the Director – Talent, Culture & Leadership for the province of Ontario, jump onboard and join our growing Talent team to lead, guide and support strategic human resources objectives in Ottawa.

As the Manager – Talent, Culture & Leadership, you will focus on leading and delivering authentic service and excellence in human resources to support our fast growth and ambitious business goals. You will drive the achievement of strategic objectives through a people perspective, serving as an advocate, catalyst and champion of our global HR approach.

In addition to your proven experience in HR leadership and support, you are a strong communicator, well versed in worksite and labour HR support and have established experience working in both a unionized and nonunionized environment.

You embrace change and are known for your ability to influence others as well as lead and build innovative teams. As Ottawa’s human resources lead, you will be a key partner to senior leaders and accountable to support a resourceful and adaptable HR function.
What you will do

• Act as the strategic HR partner to Pomerleau’s leadership team, senior executives, and managers to implement Talent, Culture, and Leadership (TCL) strategies and ensure their successful execution.
• Guide and support managers in the growth, management, and development of their teams.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and implement transformation activities that have a lasting impact on managers and employees.
• Promote the adoption of new TCL approaches integrating AI and analytics capabilities into management practices embedding their use into Pomerleau’s culture.
• Build a trusting relationship with leaders to understand the company’s strategy and translate it into meaningful TCL activities.
• Help clarify talent, structure, and leadership issues linked to growth and the evolution of the various functions.
• Provide advisory support on complex labor relations and employee relations matters and encourage communication between managers and employees.
• Analyze, propose, and present key performance indicators to inform leadership teams of progress and the support needed to succeed.
• Collaborate and partner with the Talent, Culture and Leadership Centre of Excellence team in the execution and post-launch management of a variety of projects and programs in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Organizational Development and Training & Development.
• Be a champion and role model of Health & Safety in the Ottawa region
• Be a key contributor to continue building the local Ottawa office culture and take part in local office and team building activities.

This role could be for you if you have

• A post-secondary degree and/or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial or labour relations or any other related discipline, combined with 10+ years of progressive HR management experience and business partnering experience within union and non-union environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Proficient in all areas of Canadian employment laws.
• Demonstrate a strong ability to lead initiatives and navigate in an ambiguous environment.
• Exhibit strong leadership through influence.
• Possess strong organizational and work planning skills , along with ease working in a fast paced and evolving environment.
• Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Industrial Relations Counsellor (CIRC) is preferred.

• Bilingualism English/French is an asset.
