As an Environmental Technician working within the Operational Support team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support project teams in maintaining environmental and contractual compliance across our projects. Supporting large‑scale building and infrastructure projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you will play a key role in field implementation, monitoring, and documentation of environmental requirements.
What you will do

• Assist in the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of environmental plans in collaboration with Project Teams (e.g., Environmental Protection Plans, Erosion and Sediment Control Plans, Waste Management Plans).
• Conduct field inspections, monitoring, and sampling activities to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
• Support the identification and management of environmental issues on site, including water quality, sensitive environments, erosion and sediment control, and contaminated soils.
• Assist internal teams and external stakeholders in meeting environmental and certification-related requirements.
• Verify subcontractors’ work and compliance with environmental requirements.
• Track and maintain environmental performance indicators (non-conformities, spills, residual materials, best practices, etc.) and complete related documentation in Procore.
• Report environmental observations, incidents, or deviations from requirements to the Environmental Coordinator or Project Team and assist with regulatory reporting as required.
• Support the implementation of proactive solutions to maintain environmental compliance and reduce environmental impacts.
• Assist the Project Team in applying construction methodologies that minimize environmental effects.


This role could be for you if you have

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental technology, biology, sustainable development, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in an environmental or construction‑related role.
• Previous construction site or fieldwork experience.
• Experience or interest in environmental sampling and monitoring.
• Basic knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a field‑based environment.
