As a Transportation Coordinator within Pomerleau’s Logistics team, you will be responsible for the external transportation of heavy equipment (excavators, off-road trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, cranes, drills, etc.) as well as construction materials for large-scale building and infrastructure projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Civil & Infrastructure division teams, overseeing carrier compliance and transportation logistics.
What you will do

• Identify innovative transportation and/or storage solutions with existing and new suppliers to move equipment and materials to logistics hubs, suppliers, and construction sites;
• Negotiate transportation and customs clearance costs and rates;
• Prepare purchase orders and validate invoices for completed purchases;
• Coordinate transportation activities and optimize load consolidation to minimize costs while maximizing service levels for internal clients (construction sites);
• Ensure the availability of required material resources (lifting equipment) and human resources for loading and unloading operations at all times;
• Prepare all necessary documentation for transportation purchases (purchase orders) and ensure all required documents (waybills, permits, etc.) are produced and provided to guarantee the safety and legality of all transportation activities;
•Coordinate all equipment and material imports from outside the country, identifying and proposing efficient and cost-effective transportation and customs clearance solutions while negotiating rates and costs;
• Coordinate all activities with key stakeholders (category specialists, internal clients/projects, suppliers, customs brokers, carriers, etc.) through to final delivery of equipment and/or materials;
• Ensure that equipment and materials are shipped and received within established timelines

This role could be for you if you have

• Education in logistics and transportation or a related field;
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role;
• Specific experience in heavy equipment transportation (excavators, off-road trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, cranes, drills, etc.);
• Experience with provincial and federal regulations related to equipment transportation.
