Reporting to the Director – Insurance or the Vice President – Insurance and Surety, you will act as a key resource for both the team and business units on insurance claims, with the opportunity to expand your role to include surety claims and/or Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI). You will also collaborate with external partners (insurers, adjusters, lawyers, brokers) and contribute directly to reducing the total cost of risk and enhancing the company’s financial performance.
Your responsibilities


• Analyze incidents across various lines of insurance and take a position on coverage, liability, and quantum
• Advise project teams on claims-related matters
• Coordinate files with insurers and defend Pomerleau’s interests
• Develop internal capabilities through tailored training
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of practices and processes
• Work closely with the claims team and the broader team to ensure a consistent and effective approach
• Participate in non-claims initiatives based on your interests and expertise
• Maintain strong relationships with our internal and external partners



This position is for you if you have:

• Experience in insurance brokerage or with an insurer (a strong asset)
• A DEC or AEC in property and casualty insurance, financial services, or a related field (or equivalent)
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of the construction industry (a major asset)
• Excellent bilingual proficiency (French and English, both written and spoken)
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a high level of confidentiality
• Sound judgment and the ability to make recommendations

• Autonomy, team spirit, and a willingness to take on challenges
