During the proposal and execution phases of projects delivered under alternative delivery methods, the Senior Design Coordinator manages design packages within a large-scale project or oversees the entire design of a project of particular size and technical complexity, depending on their expertise.
What you will do

• Review and become familiar with the documents provided by the client during the proposal phase and/or project documents during execution (design-build contract, agreements with consultants, client technical specifications, etc.);
• Coordinate the professionals involved (architects, engineers, and specialized consultants) throughout the design development;
• Ensure that deliverables are produced in line with established objectives and schedules;
• Manage technical questions and responses received from design teams;
• Manage technical documentation and reviews using a document management system;
• Distribute drawings and relevant technical information to the estimating department, as well as to suppliers and subcontractors involved in the project;
• Optimize the design (alternative analyses, value engineering, etc.) by considering schedule and cost impacts, while ensuring constructability in collaboration with the construction team;
• Participate in design review meetings with all relevant stakeholders, prepare meeting minutes if required, and follow up on outstanding issues;
• Ensure that the selected modeling approach (BIM) is properly implemented and utilized in coordination with all relevant stakeholders;
Monitor client requirements by coordinating across different disciplines;
• Collaborate with the construction team on the review of RFIs, shop drawings, and site instructions.


This role could be for you if you have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field;
• Member of a recognized professional order (OIQ, OAQ, etc.);
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design development role or a related position;
• Demonstrated initiative, innovation, and rigor;
• Strong knowledge of BIM/VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) methodologies;
• Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, sound judgment, and strong communication abilities;
• Ability to collaborate effectively with all members of a project team;
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage stress effectively;
