Under the supervision of the Planning Manager and/or Project Director, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Planning team for a given project during both the proposal and execution phases. They manage the development of the project master schedule and prepare planning-related documentation. The incumbent also provides technical support throughout the proposal and project execution phases.
They ensure effective communication between the Planning team and the other members of the project team.
What you will do

• Work on one to three projects simultaneously, depending on project assignments.
• Manage a team of resources to meet the planning requirements of proposals and projects. Depending on the scope and complexity of the assigned projects, this team may include Schedulers and Planning Coordinators.
• Work closely with the Planning Manager and Team Lead to coordinate resources and ensure the efficient delivery of assigned mandates.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Schedule Management Plan.
• Be accountable for the team's work output, the quality of planning deliverables, and compliance with contractual deliverable requirements.
• During the proposal phase, collaborate with the Proposal Director to review contractual requirements and analyze draft contract documents.
• During the execution phase, ensure that all contractual schedule requirements are incorporated into the project schedule.
• Participate in risk management meetings with department leads and ensure identified risks are reflected in the project schedule.
• Serve as a credible and valued technical resource for project stakeholders.
• Mentor and train Schedulers and/or Planning Coordinators in the execution of their planning activities.
• Collaborate with the Cost Management and BIM teams to promote the use of new technologies on assigned projects.
• Perform claims-related schedule analyses and ensure that internal and third-party delay tracking is conducted in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure that the project schedule reflects the project delivery strategy, incorporates a clearly defined critical path, includes project interfaces and associated impacts, and captures external dependencies and third-party obligations.
• Ensure alignment between the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and cost estimates, and contribute to the development of expenditure and cash flow curves.
• Develop and maintain Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for assigned projects.
• During the proposal phase, oversee and guide the preparation of project schedules, schedule-driven resource curves, project phasing and sequencing strategies, planning assumptions documentation, and integration of contractual constraints.
• Validate, in collaboration with the Construction and Methods teams, the overall construction methods to be implemented on site.
• Identify optimal project execution strategies aligned with the proposed construction methods and proactively anticipate site challenges.
• Collaborate with the Design Management team to integrate the design schedule into the overall project schedule.
• Provide technical support to the Planning and Construction teams regarding schedule implementation and compliance.
• Conduct qualitative schedule analyses for projects under their responsibility.
• Update project schedules at the frequency established by the project team and in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Engage with project teams to ensure the appropriate stakeholders and accurate data are integrated into project schedules.
• Develop and maintain schedule-based reporting visuals and dashboards.
• During the execution phase, monitor actual productivity rates for critical or identified high-risk activities.
• During the execution phase, perform variance analyses and provide supporting justifications.
• Establish and/or participate in weekly progress meetings for assigned projects.
• Contribute to resource planning and workload curve development.
• Participate in site visits and project review meetings.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Planning department by developing standard documents and capturing best practices from previous projects.

This role could be for you if you have

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline in civil or construction engineering.
• 8 to 20 years of relevant planning and scheduling experience in the construction industry.
• Previous team leadership and people management experience.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, TILOS, and other project scheduling software.
• Advanced knowledge of Acumen Fuse, Schedule Reader, or similar schedule quality analysis tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
