As a Project Director working within Pomerleau Construction's Marine and Civil Infrastructure team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering some of British Columbia's most complex and impactful marine projects.

Leading the delivery of large-scale marine infrastructure projects ranging from $20 million to over $1 billion, you will oversee all aspects of project execution, including strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and team leadership. Working closely with cross-functional teams, consultants, contractors, indigenous partners and clients, you will foster collaboration and drive excellence throughout every phase of delivery.

Your expertise will help navigate complex construction challenges while fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, innovation and operational excellence.
What you will do:


• Proactively grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve the project goals and vision.
• Support your project management teams to develop and drive the construction schedule ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met and or exceeded.
• Put your problem-solving skills to work and recommend innovative methods that will increase effectiveness and efficiency to ensure project excellence and productivity.
• Use your proactive approach to ensure compliance with our first-class Quality Program.
• Utilize your experience in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities.
• Apply your financial management experience to plan, manage and respect project budgets, costs and associated purchasing.
• Be both a mentor and role model to your project team, providing coaching and guidance to help them advance in their careers.
• Act as the subject matter expert in risk management, ensuring any associated project risk is minimized.
• Take pride in compiling and completing companywide project reports for executive teams and client groups.
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.  Effectively applying the requirements of the project specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project.


This role could be for you if you have:

• 10+ years of experience in the civil and infrastructure construction industry.
• 5+ years of experience delivering full-cycle marine infrastructure projects including ports, marine terminals, docks, dredging, marine piling etc.
• A University degree/diploma in Engineering or related field.
• A strong business acumen and knowledge of project management methodologies, financial management and Canadian building codes.
• Outstanding leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues to bring the project to successful completion.
• Knowledge of the local market is considered an asset.
