Working closely with project teams, external partners, and senior leadership, you will play a key role in protecting the organization’s financial interests. This position offers significant visibility and excellent professional growth opportunities.

Reporting to the Director, Surety and Financial Prequalification, you will be responsible for safeguarding Pomerleau’s financial interests by identifying subcontracting partners that present elevated risk levels and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
What you will do

•Analyzing the financial strength of subcontracting partners to assess their ability to successfully complete contracted work.
•Identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
•Developing and maintaining trusted relationships with subcontractors, particularly Controllers and Finance Directors, to encourage the confidential sharing of financial information.
•Acting as an internal and external subject matter expert on prequalification and risk-related matters.
•Actively contributing to the deployment and promotion of the SDI program.
•Delivering training sessions and supporting teams in the application of related policies and procedures.
•Participating in strategic analyses, executive presentations, and reports for senior leadership and external partners.
•Collaborating with project teams and occasionally traveling to meet with partners.


This role could be for you if you have

•Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•2 to 5 years of experience in financial analysis, surety, or a related role.
•Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to meet with partners and project teams.
•Knowledge of surety/bonding and the construction industry (an asset).
•Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a high level of accuracy.
•Ability to work independently and formulate sound recommendations.
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI is considered an asset.
•Enjoy working collaboratively with a dynamic team.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
•Fluency in both French and English, both spoken and written, to support collaboration with partners and stakeholders across Canada.
