The successful candidate will play a key role in Pomerleau’s development by joining the Corporate Strategy and Development team. This team works closely with senior leadership and other executives to identify the company’s key strategic directions and ensure profitable growth. More specifically, it is responsible for defining and implementing the strategic planning process, assessing market opportunities and threats, and recommending and prioritizing strategic initiatives. To succeed in this role, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and synthesis skills, exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, solid knowledge of corporate finance, and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
What you will do :
• Contribute to strategic planning by collaborating with internal teams and external consultants in the collection, analysis, and formulation of recommendations for strategic initiatives.
• Support the execution and monitoring of strategic initiatives.
• Conduct value-added analyses as part of strategic mandate evaluations (e.g., competitive analysis).
• Assist the Strategy Manager in analyzing strategic opportunities by developing business plans and formulating recommendations to support decision-making by senior leadership.
• Prepare presentations for senior management and/or the board of directors.

This role could be for you if you have :
• 2 years of experience in a consulting firm or within a corporate strategy/development department.
• Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly identify key issues in complex problems.
• Ability to work independently while proactively contributing to the team is essential for success in this role.
• Skilled at developing high-impact presentations.
• Proven ability to synthesize issues and recommendations into clear and concise messages.
• Knowledge of the construction or engineering industry is an asset.
• Solid understanding of basic corporate finance concepts (e.g., financial statement analysis) and profitability (e.g., return on investment calculations).
