Reporting to the Director, National Fleet and Equipment Management, the incumbent will serve as a technical advisor within our logistics organization, ensuring effective support for project sites across Canada in their marine equipment needs. As a technical advisor, this person will work closely with Procurement on all marine equipment acquisition matters, with the Mechanical Department on maintenance, repair, modification, and upgrade files, and with Regional Coordinators and Marine Operations leads on tracking the allocation and deployment of marine equipment.
What you will do

Fleet Inspections and Maintenance

• Perform follow-ups on periodic inspections (daily, weekly, monthly) as well as pre‑mobilization and demobilization inspections (on & off hire) of vessels.
• Review inspection and maintenance requirements to ensure vessel efficiency.
• Provide recommendations on maintenance, improvements, modifications, and upgrades for all vessels while ensuring continued compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Work closely with the mechanical department to maintain the marine fleet in excellent mechanical condition so it remains safe, efficient, and cost‑effective.
• Supervise maintenance, modification, and upgrade work performed internally or by subcontractors.
• Track schedules and budgets for all related work.

Regulatory Compliance and Governance

• Assess, process, and follow up on modification requests for vessels submitted by project sites.
• Represent the company with Transport Canada and Bureau Veritas for all applications, renewals, and updates of vessel permits and certifications. Maintain and develop strong relationships with these organizations to stay ahead in the operational maintenance of the fleet.
• Contribute to the revision and improvement of the Marine Program (regarding legal and health & safety aspects).
• In collaboration with marine operations, provide recommendations regarding the various uses of our vessels.

Procurement and Investments

• Advise procurement specialists on the acquisition of marine vessels.
• Provide recommendations and perform equipment inspections as required for potential acquisitions and integration into the fleet.
• Produce reports as needed to support purchase recommendations.
• Collaborate with various departments (administration, legal, procurement, etc.) for vessel ownership transfers.
• Manage rental contracts for marine equipment under the responsibility of the Logistics department.

Logistics and Marine Equipment Transfers

• Collaborate with the Marine Superintendent to maximize the use of fleet equipment and meet the needs of all project sites.
• Participate in planning and coordinating the transfer and preparation of marine equipment for land or sea transportation between sites.
•Work with operations teams to ensure their needs are met while maintaining equipment safety and performance.

This role could be for you if you have

• Mobility and willingness to travel when required.
• More than 12 years of experience in marine operations involving vessels over 15 tons.
•A valid “Master, 150 Gross Tonnage or Less” certificate.
• In‑depth knowledge of Canadian maritime regulations related to Small Commercial Vessels.
• Autonomy and the ability to manage/coordinate a large volume of requests within short time frames.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Additional Assets

• Work experience in marine construction sites.
• Basic knowledge of Pomerleau internal software.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
