Under the supervision of the Senior Director, Tax, the incumbent supports the company’s tax activities by ensuring compliance, participating in tax planning, and contributing to the analysis of tax issues related to operations. In addition, they will perform various tasks related to tax accounting in accordance with established procedures and deadlines, and in compliance with the various provincial and federal tax laws of Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities


• Preparation of the Group’s corporate income tax returns;
• Preparation of the tax provision;
• Conduct tax research on various topics and analyze the Canadian and U.S. tax implications of new legislation related to the companies’ cross-border activities;
• Participate in the development and implementation of an internal corporate tax compliance process and the management of tax records;
• Coordinate and follow up with Canadian tax authorities (information requests, audits, proposed and final assessments, reassessments, and adjustment requests);
• Advise on, and participate in, the implementation and monitoring of taxable benefit measures and sales taxes required for the Group’s activities;
• Ensure tax compliance through internal controls and recommend and implement measures to optimize controls and reduce corporate tax risks;
• Work closely with various departments (legal, accounting, operations, logistics), both internally and externally, acting as a subject matter expert and point of reference;
• Provide timely support to internal stakeholders and assume a supervisory role over certain processes assigned by the Senior Director, Tax;
• Maintain up-to-date tax documentation and internal policies.


Education, Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Management, or Business Administration;
• Professional accounting designation (CPA);
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in taxation, ideally including experience in a professional accounting firm;
• Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic and growing environment;
• Strong time management and self-motivation skills, with the ability to complete tasks in an organized, structured, and efficient manner;

• Demonstrated judgment, initiative, autonomy, and strong analytical skills.
