Reporting to the Senior Director of Quality, the Head of Governance and Quality System plays a crucial role in managing and continuously improving quality processes within our organization. Alongside their support team and internal auditors, they are responsible for the development and maintenance of the ISO 9001 standard, thereby ensuring the stability of organizational processes and the long-term sustainability of the company. The Head of Governance and Quality System oversees the planning, organization, and monitoring of Quality activities for construction projects nationwide. They ensure that Quality processes comply with ISO standards and develop Quality Management Plans for each project. As a technical expert in the Quality Management System (QMS), they plan internal and external audits, train and support users according to their needs, and identify opportunities for improvement. This role also involves gathering and analyzing user needs and existing processes, evaluating best practices and lessons learned, and integrating these insights into organizational strategies. The Head of Governance and Quality System ensures overall compliance of the QMS and provides strategic recommendations to senior management. This is a permanent, full-time position based at 500 Saint-Jacques Street, Suite 300, in Montréal. Team Management

Supervise the planning, organization, and monitoring of the Quality System Specialists team supporting quality management for construction projects nationwide.
Assume functional responsibility for the national team of internal Quality auditors, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement of processes.
Analysis and Evaluation

Oversee the collection and analysis of user needs and existing processes, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives and operational team requirements.
Evaluate and validate the relevance of best practices and lessons learned in collaboration with Quality Directors and Managers, and integrate these insights into organizational strategies.
Use data to measure the effectiveness of quality processes and adjust strategies accordingly.
Optimization and Monitoring

Lead complex, nationwide Quality improvement initiatives to optimize the efficiency of current practices in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
Identify potential impacts and recommend changes to the QMS, including relevant communications.
Develop detailed quality plans and procedures in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
Ensure quality process compliance with ISO standards.
Manage resources related to the department.
Oversee global monitoring of QMS compliance and potential changes, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management as needed.
Planning and Coordination

Supervise the planning of recurring QMS and integrated system activities (Environment, Health & Safety, and Quality) in collaboration with relevant departments.
Coordinate and lead internal audits (as team lead) and oversee external audits, while being responsible for the corrective action process.
Work closely with various teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities and support teams in adopting new practices.
Training and Support

Take responsibility for the Quality training plan, lead the design of training programs and the drafting of technical documentation, and train users on system functionalities and company-established best practices, ensuring a strategic and goal-aligned approach.
Train, coach, and support QMS and other system personnel, ensuring their ongoing professional development, and provide user support in case of system failures by leading the search for alternatives due to system limitations.
Act as a Quality ambassador by leading training sessions, initiating awareness activities, and actively promoting a culture of Quality within the company.
Conduct site visits and support project teams to ensure strategic alignment and a deep understanding of field realities.
Monitoring and Reporting

Implement the necessary tools and methods to monitor the Quality performance of projects and the Quality Management System (QMS), and provide regular reporting to senior management (Key Performance Indicators).
Lead the identification of key parameters to measure process performance in collaboration with operational and functional teams, and ensure consistent reporting to leadership.
Develop dashboards and digital tools to track the Quality performance of projects and the QMS, promoting the use of digital and technological solutions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Master’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in Quality Management in the construction field.
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
Certified Lead Auditor from a recognized organization.
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Experience

Minimum of 10 years of management experience, including leading a team of at least 4 professionals.
At least 5 years of experience in internal auditing.
7 to 10 years of experience in the construction industry, having led large-scale civil engineering projects.
5 to 10 years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety, and Quality Risk Management (QHSE).
Proven experience implementing ISO 9001 in the construction sector.
Experience leading large-scale continuous improvement projects.
Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
Willingness and ability to travel to various construction sites across Canada.
Additional Details

Salary: $134,000 to $162,000 CAD
Bonus: The employer may, at its sole discretion, grant one or more bonuses based on employee performance, the company’s financial health, and overall evaluation of the employee’s work. If granted, the amount and frequency of the bonus(es) will be entirely at the employer’s discretion.
