The Cost Controller is responsible for making a significant contribution to the cost management of major projects. Reporting directly to the Senior Cost Control Manager – Major Projects, their mission is to carry out analyses and monitor any corrective actions related to expense tracking. This role plays a key part in preparing various budgets and revisions for submission to Project Management. They collect, analyze, and summarize information on opportunities and risks to assist Project Management in decision-making.
What you will do :

Project Cost Management :
• Ensures the dissemination, explanation, and compliance with consortium management methods. Suggests improvements to the Cost Control Manager when relevant.
• Maintains constant communication with the Construction, Procurement, and Accounting teams to ensure proper expense allocation and coherent project management.
• Prepares budget summaries within their scope and ensures data and assumptions are consistent.
• Guarantees the reliability of operating results by analyzing:
- Remaining expenditures, quantities implemented, key ratios and their evolution
- Billing discrepancies
- Operational disputes
- Equipment
- Outstanding purchase orders
- Time tracking for salaried and hourly staff
- Accrued expenses

Ensures proper entity management by analyzing :
- Monthly financial reports
- Overhead costs (staff monitoring, operating expenses)
- Potential social and environmental risks
- Compliance with framework agreements negotiated by the Procurement Department
- Various variance accounts (equipment, personnel, etc.)

Advisory and Support to Project Management :
- Responds to analysis and summary requests from Project Management in the field of cost control.
- Proactively conducts various studies or analyses.
- Participates in team skill development and delivers training on key management points and information system usage.
- Collaborates with project managers to establish budgets and integrate them into the system.

Contribution to Internal Control :
• Participates in audit closing meetings within their scope and ensures effective implementation of recommendations.
• Carries out specific control missions at the request of the Cost Control Manager and/or Project Control Director.

Interactions :
• Frequent contact with Partners’ Finance Departments
• Project Management, Project Control Department, Administration and Finance team, Construction Directors, Project Managers, Procurement team
• Internal auditors, Quality auditors

Methodology & Processes :
• Develop, implement, and improve project-specific management processes and procedures.
• Ensure proper application by teams and propose continuous optimizations.
• Act as the guarantor of the application and evolution of Major Project Management Methods.

This role could be for you if you have :

• Master’s degree in management, cost control, finance, accounting, or construction management
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in budget control, financial analysis, and performance monitoring in the construction sector
• Understanding of project management in consortium or joint venture mode
• Good knowledge of ERP tools (SAP is a plus)
• Ability to use Power BI reports (created by the support team) and identify improvement needs & necessary developments to strengthen interfaces and visibility within project teams
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent understanding/adaptability to consortium environments with different partners within the project
• Mastery of project management methods (EVM, activity forecasting, etc.)
