As an Environmental coordinator within the environmental team for the Montréal metro Blue Line extension project, your main responsibility will be to ensure the implementation of environmental requirements on the construction sites covered by the project. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with project management teams across multiple sites.
You will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance of construction activities, the implementation of environmental management plans, and the achievement of Envision objectives.
What you will do

• Be present on various construction sites and support site teams in carrying out work in compliance with Envision certification and all environmental requirements associated with the project;
• Provide environmental advisory services to project teams regarding the different environmental issues and obligations of the project (monitoring water discharge quality, dust, contaminated soils, storage of residual hazardous materials, permits & authorizations, storage and disposal of residual materials, noise and vibrations, etc.);
• Implement and carry out activities related to Envision certification on construction sites;
• Develop environmental plans and programs and ensure their implementation by supporting site teams and performing on-site activities (e.g., management of demolition materials and construction waste, residual hazardous materials, erosion control, contaminated soil management, water management, etc.);
• Keep environmental performance indicators up to date (non-compliances, spills, residual materials, best practices, etc.);
• Conduct monthly inspections to ensure site installations comply with requirements;
• Compile data and produce monitoring reports according to required frequency;
• Report any apparent deviation from requirements that could affect environmental obligations as quickly as possible and open non-compliance reports when necessary;
• Proactively find solutions to ensure compliance with environmental requirements;
• Attend weekly follow-up meetings with the client and communicate issues and expectations clearly;
•Carry out various activities related to implementing the project’s Environmental Management System (EMS) on construction sites.

This role could be for you if you have

• A university degree in environment, sustainable development, engineering, geology, or a related field;
• 3+ years of experience as an environmental technician or advisor;
• Experience on construction sites or in an industrial setting;
• Solid understanding of environmental issues and impacts that can arise in a construction project;
• General knowledge of provincial and municipal environmental regulations;
•A valid driver’s license and ideally access to a car;
• Strong command of French and English, both spoken and written.


Schedule: Monday to Friday – 40 hours/week
Rotation System: 10/4 (10 days worked / 4 days off), day or night shifts
