As a construction equipment mechanic foreman within Pomerleau's Civil Engineering & Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising the maintenance, repair, and inspection activities of the heavy machinery used on Pomerleau worksites. Working on large-scale construction projects – ranging from $1.5 million to over a billion dollars – you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of various projects.
What you will do

• Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment (hydraulic excavators, cranes, graders, trucks, aerial work platforms, etc.).
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues.
• Prioritize interventions based on site needs and deadlines.
• Ensure that all interventions comply with manufacturer standards and Pomerleau’s internal policies.
• Lead, motivate, and supervise construction equipment mechanics.
• Assign daily tasks and monitor performance.
• Train team members on procedures, best practices, and safety measures.
• Apply and enforce OHS standards for all mechanical interventions.
• Manage the inventory of parts, tools, and consumables.
• Collaborate with external suppliers for parts procurement or specialized repairs.
•Attend construction site meetings to plan equipment needs.
• Provide technical support and advice on the optimal use of equipment.
• Participate in the analysis of major breakdowns and propose improvement solutions.


This role could be for you if you have

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a foreman
• A valid CCQ journeyman card
• A valid driver’s license – Class 5
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong diagnostic ability and high autonomy
• Motivational leadership and good priority management
