Under the supervision of the Garage Team Lead at the Ville Sainte-Catherine location, the incumbent is primarily responsible for maintaining and repairing the company’s vehicles, equipment, machinery, and other heavy equipment. Heavy equipment includes, but is not limited to, earthmoving equipment (hydraulic excavators, tractors, wheel loaders, off-road trucks, etc.), lifting equipment (cranes, etc.), surface and underground drilling equipment, as well as piling and concrete equipment.
What you will do

• Inspect and test equipment to identify faults and malfunctions;
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools;
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using computerized diagnostic tools and other equipment to determine the extent of repairs required;
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with manufacturer specifications;
• Complete inspection certificates following repairs and inspections;
• Clean and lubricate equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks;
• Carry out scheduled maintenance operations such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups;
• Communicate with the operations lead regarding work performed, overall equipment condition, and future repair needs;
• Participate in training related to new equipment and machinery;

This role could be for you if you have

• A DEP (vocational diploma) in heavy equipment mechanics;
• A valid Heavy Vehicle Mechanic certification;
• Between 5 to 8 years of relevant experience;
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment used in the construction industry;
• Familiarity with CAT ET diagnostic system (asset);
• Strong autonomy and attention to detail;
• Excellent priority management and analytical skills;
